Brief

These sample articles were written to a similar brief, a 500 word travel article for SEO in a tone of voice which was friendly, simple language and easy to read, with professional tone but not too stuffy.

The writers were given keywords to include, along with search volumes so they could see which were the most important keywords for traffic. These have been included in titles and subheadings to help search engines understand what’s on the page. These would be turned into meta titles and H-tags on the resultant web pages.

The keywords for each article are shown above each article and the audience was as follows:

25-50 age group
Independent traveller
Professional, intelligent
Reasonably affluent (not budget)

All images have been captioned to explain to the reader what the picture is showing. On the actual web page, these captions would be used as image tags which are necessary to tell search engines what is in the picture and why it is there. They are also used for visually impaired visitors to the website and on occasions when the images don’t load correctly in areas of poor signal or Wi-Fi.

Links to non-competing websites have been included where appropriate. This is good SEO practice.

We chose travel as a subject to write about as it is a universally understood subject and as such provides a great platform to demonstrate our SEO copywriting skills.
